Sparks Lake Engagement Session | Oregon Engagement Photographer

An epic flight to Central Oregon for a Sparks Lake Engagement Session

When Tom & Lea contacted me for wedding and engagement photos, I knew it would be nothing short of stunning right after our first call. These two had big ideas and I was excited to be there to bring them to life for a Sparks Lake Engagement Session.

We had a couple calls to figure out logistics of the day and timing for our little adventure. After discussing multiple location options, we decided to head on over to Sparks Lake for their engagement photos. Being 25 miles west of Bend, it was close enough to make it within the day for sunset photos, and far enough where not many people go there for photos when you’re based in the valley. There are plenty of spots to stop by here as well, so you can always find a new view for photos.

We started off by meeting at the Aurora Airport. Tom and Lea wanted to take some photos there before we flew out to Bend. Aviation is a big part of Tom’s life, so I’m so glad we were able to incorporate it into our session. Now 2 P.M in the Oregon summer is hot, so we quickly finished then got ready to go.

Ready for take off

Tom piloted the flight and in 45 minutes, we were in Bend and ready to go. Once we arrived, we jumped right into photos. It was still pretty warm out so we mostly photographed along the shaded shoreline and in the woods to start. This is one of my favorite times of the year to photograph because the light coming through the trees is simply magical. It’s also a great way to keep cool and make-up looking fresh.

Once the sun was a bit lower, we headed over to the other side of the peninsula. The breeze here was refreshing and made for fun photos. Tom and Lea were so easy going, fun and loving. They made it too easy to get these epic shots!

We finished off the day at the Lava Lands then headed back to the airport shortly after. Overall it was an amazing way to spend an afternoon and a great way to create their unique engagement session.

Congratulations to you both on your engagement! I’m so happy we were able to make this session a reality for you.
