Stephan & Ira | Oregon Sunrise Engagement | Silverton Oregon Wedding Photographer

These days I’ve been getting up around 5 a.m and I have been dreaming of doing a sunrise engagement session. There is just something so lovely about waking up early while everyone else is asleep and seeing the sun come up over the horizon. The skies are almost always full of color and sometimes there is this fog that hovers low to the ground. I was so excited to hear that Stephan & Ira would be willing to wake up at 4 a.m to meet up early enough to capture it all.

We were fortunate to not only have clear skies but also fairly warm weather. While that doesn’t make or break an engagement session, it can help to make you feel a bit more comfortable when you don’t have to slip in and out of your sweater. Even if it was chilly, I’m sure Stephan and Ira would have been more than happy to stay close to keep warm.

I was so grateful that they trusted me to meet up so early as most people would rather sleep in! We spent together a total 3 hours since we drove to a few different locations and had an outfit change as well. What felt even better was that they had the rest of the day ahead of them and they got to go and get breakfast afterwards. Towards the end of their sunrise engagement session, we started to see more people about and getting their day started. Stephan actually struck up a conversation with a few fisherman across the Molalla river right at the end before we headed back.

We had a lot of fun walking around so early in the morning and I am still so glad that we did something different for these two. Their wedding is right around the corner now and I am so excited to see what else will be happening then!
