Dima & Elana- Portland Engagement Session

Dima & Elana- Portland Engagement Session

Dima and Elana are two of the kindest people I have come to know and we had so much fun during their Portland Engagement session. After our initial consultation, we decided to meet in Portland for  as they wanted more of an urban vibe. I think the best part of an engagement session is seeing my couples just come to life right in front of me. Seriously, there is no other way I can describe it. The reason for that is often times an engagement session is the first time they are being professionally photographed together. So, naturally Dima and Elana were a bit shy at first.

We started off further downtown to change it up a bit from being on the iconic Portland waterfront. We visited Lovejoy Fountain Park, (a name which I have come to adore) and the area around it before heading to Salmon Street Springs. Salmon Street Springs has a variety of spray patterns, and just as we were ready to start, it changed to the one you see below. We were hoping to have another pattern, but after waiting for a few minutes it did not seem like it would be changing anytime soon. The sun would be setting soon so I suggested to just stand by the water to start. To my surprise, Dima lifted up Elana and carried her right into to fountain.

It was unexpected, exciting and so much fun! I just love how you can see their smiles beaming off their faces. It felt like such a great reminder to just let go and have fun sometimes. They were absolutely soaked by the end of it, but it was well worth it. It was such a great twist to their session too. Now, they have this wonderful memory to share with others.

Next month is their wedding already. It’s so hard to believe this was a few months ago. I can’t wait to see what we do for their wedding!
