Jacob and Domnika had their wedding photos at Villa Catalana Cellars in Oregon City, Oregon. This is one of my absolute favorite wedding venues in the area. Mostly because it looks like it was just plucked straight from the Tuscan hills and placed into the Oregon countryside. As a result of their hard work, the owners of Villa Catalana really made their property into something special.
First of all, we had a really great time with Jacob and Domnika and a big reason for that was we got to hide from the storm outside in the beautiful greenhouse. It was the perfect place to take all the family photos. Mostly because everyone felt comfortable inside. I absolutely love Oregon, but the rain during winter can be just a bit too much sometimes. (Especially when we are photographing little ones)
While we primarily focused our time at Villa Catalana, we also decided to head out to Rocky Butte Park in Portland afterwards. It’s a really lovely that you wouldn’t expect to have such great views. On a clear day, you can see all the airplanes take off and land at the Portland airport as well as Mount Hood. Their wedding attire paired so nicely with the stonework of both locations and the beautiful lights at Rocky Butte.
We met one more time the next day to take photos in their pre-wedding attire. Russian Orthodox weddings often involve several outfits, so I’m always excited to photograph as many as I can. There is a lot of time spent and attention to detail involved when making them. Not to mention the colors are always so strikingly beautiful, like the lavender they chose. Scroll on to see it all!
